« Women and Islam: Understanding and Reporting » is the theme of the 2007 Elizabeth Neuffer Forum on Human Rights and Journalism. This annual event will be held on March 29, 2007, at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. Geneive Abdo from The Gallup Organization, Huda Ahmed, Reporter, Iraq/2006 IWMF Elizabeth Neuffer Fellow and Irfana Anwer, Executive Director of KARAMAH will be among the speakers.
The forum is presented with the support of The Boston Globe and co-sponsored by the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation. It is a part of the Elizabeth Neuffer IWMF (International Women’s Media Foundation) Fund which is named for a Boston Globe correspondent, and 1998 Courage in Journalism Award winner, who was killed in Iraq in May 2003.
The fund was established by Elizabeth Neuffer's family and friends and the IWMF to perpetuate her memory and advance her life's mission of promoting international understanding of human rights and social justice.
This fund also organise a nine-month fellowship which focus on human rights and social justice. Those interested in the fellowship should send their application by 15 April 2007-03-12.
