Conferences & Seminars: Conference on “Arab and World Media”
The Arab Thought Foundation, in collaboration with the Dubai Press Club, will hold its fourth annual conference on 5-6 December 2005 in Dubai under the title "Arab and World Media: Getting it Right". The conference will gather top journalists and media executives from around the world. The conference will deal with topics such as censorship, the contribution of the media to political reform in the Arab world and the coverage of the Arab countries.
The main goal of the conference is to encourage interaction between Arab and international media organizations to bridge the existing gap between them and make truth the only priority.
The invitees include Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, Entrepeneur and Investor; the Wall Street Journal's publisher Karen E House; Naguib Sawiris, the Chairman and CEO of Orascom, the leading telecom firm in North Africa; the Times Magazine Editor-in-Chief Jim Kelly; the Al Arabiya Channel's General Manager Abdul Rahman Al Rashed; Amr Moussa, Secretary General of League of Arab States; and Saad Hariri, Member of Parliament in Lebanon.
The Arab Thought Foundation was created in 2001 by initiative of HH Prince Khaled Al Faysal Ben Abdul Aziz. It is an independent, non-governmental and international foundation with no political or sectarian ties.
