Conferences & Seminars:
Bringing Together Arab and U.S. Journalists

The International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) will select 10-12 journalists from the Arab World, along with the same number of journalists from the United States, for a two-and-a-half day conference to be held from 29 November to 1 December at the Wingspread facility in Wisconsin (USA), During the conference, participating journalists will talk about sources of misperception, misinformation and bias in reporting, as well as strategies for overcoming these problems, and possibly eliminating these sources of miscommunication. The conference will include roundtables, workshops, panel discussions and breakout sessions.

Participants will be selected from middle-size to large print and broadcast media, including reporters, managing editors, foreign directors, editorial writers, senior producers and news directors.

At the end of the conference, ICFJ will produce a publication in both English and Arabic, synthesizing the discussions and the recommendations to help media do a better job of covering both regions.
