Awards in Reporting on Microfinance

Inter Press Service (IPS), in partnership with the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), has launched the 2005 Journalism Awards for Microfinance.

The purpose of the award is to encourage media attention to the topic. Three prizes of $1000 each will be awarded to three reporters from print or on line media from across the globe for the best articles written on microfinance this year.

Participants can submit up to two articles for consideration. Only works published between January 1st and December 31st of 2005 will be considered

The award has been launched to commemorate 2005 as the International Year of Microcredit by the United Nations.

The deadline for entries is January 15, 2006.
