Call for Entries for World Press Photo Contest

Arab photojournalists are encouraged to submit their best photographs to the World Press Photo contest. The prize-winning pictures will be exhibited in 85 cities in 40 countries. The exhibition is accompanied by a yearbook published in 7 languages.

The entry rules and guidelines are available in Arabic at .The entries will be judged by an international jury composed of 13 recognized experts in the field of press photography. All entries must be accompanied by a completed entry form, which can be downloaded from the above electronic address.

World Press Photo is the largest annual press photography contest in the world. In the 2005 contest almost 70,000 pictures were submitted by more than 4,000 photographers from 123 countries.

Former Arab winners have been the Palestinian photograher for Reuters Ahmad Jadallah in the 2004 spot single news, and the Algerian AFP photographer Hocine who won the World Press Photo of the Year in 1998.
